1972 Satellite - Day 1 SPD Project Page SOLD

This page will be used to chronical my build of another 72 RR clone that I am doing. Car is SOLD AS OF 2-24-09

This car was originally purchased as a parts car.  After evaluating the car and then realizing that this car was built on the first Scheduled Production Date of the Saint Louis Plant's 1972 model year, I decided she deserved a better fate than that of a parts car.  I was considering building it as straight resto but since this car is another one that I will be selling, I decided the best ROI comes from making the car into a Road Runner clone.  The body was in very good shape except for the lower passenger quarter panel.  Floors and frame rails are excellent.

Before any work - Start Date 5-25-08

Body work started 5-25-08

After pulling off the fenders etc, I found that the car is very clean. The cowl has no rust and the car really just needs some love.

I pulled the driver door off in order to fix the poor body work someone had previously done. I found that the driver's door and quarter panel had been replaced at some point early in the car's life. The did a great job on the quarter but the rocker area was packed full of mud.

Welded patch panel into lower qtr

Body Work almost done
